TransLantau is a trail running event on South Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Participants have the opportunity to tackle this challenge solo or as a team of two. The Ultra 100km (+5,800 m elevation) and the 50km (+2,700 m elevation) cover two country parks on South Lantau with 90% on trails. The 25km (+900 m elevation), new course in 2015, will start together with the 15km.

The event starts and ends on Silvermine beach, Mui Wo.

TRANSLANTAU15

The TransLantau 15-km run, mostly on trails, covers a short run on the beach before heading to the Chi Ma Wan entry park via trails that includes several ascents for a cumulative elevation gain of 560 meters. There is NO time limit.

Starting time and location: Saturday March 14, 2015 at 10:00 am; Silvermine Beach, Mui Wo.
On-site check in and bag drop will start at 9:00 am.
There are ferries from Central (Pier 6) or Bus from Tung Chung MTR.

Course markings, checkpoints and map:
The route, mostly on trails, will be marked with Yellow ribbons and signs at intersections. There will be one checkpoint at the entry of Chi Ma Wan country park (see location on map) with drinking water and electrolytes.

The TransLantau 25 will cover the scenic coastal trails on South Lantau for a cumulative elevation gain of 900 meters. This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 8 hours.

Starting time and location: Saturday March 14, 2015 at 10:00 am; Silvermine Beach, Mui Wo.
On-site check-in and bag drop will start at 9:00 am.
There are ferries from Central (Pier 6) or Buses from Tung Chung MTR.

The 50-km Challenge will cover the most scenic trails on South Lantau, including 5 climbs for a cumulative elevation gain of 2,600 meters. This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 13 hours.

The 100-km Translantau will cover the most scenic trails on South Lantau, for a cumulative elevation gain of 5,800 meters. This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 32 hours. The route includes steep climbs and downhills, the highest climb being the Lantau peak (934m).
This race is semi-self sufficiency (9 refreshment posts are located along the route). To enroll for the TransLantau100, you must be a finisher of a 100km trail race OR a 50-km trail race in <12h within the last 2 years.

Starting time and location: Friday March 13, 2015 at 23:30 pm (Time limit: 32h); Silvermine Beach, Mui Wo.
On-site check-in and bag drop will start on Friday at 22:00.
There are ferries (35min) from Central (Pier 6, schedule: FRIDAY 20:30 [slow ferry 55min], 21:20, 22:00) or Buses (45min) from Tung Chung MTR.

Course markings, checkpoints and map

The route will be marked with Yellow ribbons and signs at intersections. There will be 9 refreshment points (see locations on map) with drinking water, electrolytes, and food. First Aid will be present at all check points and at the finish (see map).

The maximum time allowed to complete is 32 hours. Cut-off at several check points are set accordingly to ensure that all runners cross the finish line within this time limit.
