09 OCT 2016
Spartan Race is the world's best obstacle course race, with over 240 races in 25 countries around the world this year. Spartan Race is not your everyday running race - expect to run, climb, push, pull, throw and crawl through walls, hills, trees, mud, barbed wire and other challenging but fun obstacles. This October, get ready for both the Spartan Sprint and the Spartan Beast!
The Beast will test not only your endurance, perseverance and grit, but also your mind. The 19+ kilometer Beast packs more than 30 Signature Spartan Obstacles and your final hurdle on the #RoadToTrifecta. It won’t be easy, but there is no better feeling than the Spartan Medal around your neck after you fly across the finish line. The Spartan Sprint is our shortest course. It is perfect for athletes of all levels; from Spartan first timers to seasoned racers. The 5+ Kilometer Sprint may be our shortest distance but it packs more than 20 exhilarating signature Spartan Obstacles. Both races are open to racers aged 14 and above.
For kids aged 4- 13, the Spartan Junior Race has been designed especially for our mini-Spartans. Spartan Junior racers can register for the Spartan Junior Race also held on October 9th to enjoy 6-8+ fun-filled obstacles and between 0.5km-2km of running, depending on their ages.
Each Sprint, beast and Junior racer that completes the race will receive a coveted official Spartan Race Finisher T-shirt and Spartan medal after crossing the finish line.
A trophy and cash prizes will also be awarded to the winners of the Spartan Beast Elite and Elite Masters categories. (See below for more details on categories and prizes) The Biggest team will also walk away with a coveted Spartan trophy, and enjoy their own branded tent on Race Day (more details below). Junior Spartan Race
Junior Spartans must be registered by a parent or guardian before entering the festival area. All children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian while in the Spartan Festival area. Following the race, all Junior Racers must be checked out of the finish corral by their parent or guardian- they cannot be left without parents/ guardians.
Please note that the idea of this race is for kids to have as much fun as possible so no penalties(including burpees) will be enforced if they cannot complete or choose not to do an obstacle. Additionally, please note that all kids will be briefed at the start line with rules of the race, before they commence the course. Rest assured that there will be several Spartan Race Volunteers on the Junior Course to assist kids with any obstacles they may need help with, and encourage them along.
Beyond the mileage of the Spartan Race Trifecta stands the Hurricane Heat, or HH. As a team-based event designed to push racers to greater personal distances, you quickly learn the value and true meaning of having mutual objectives through teamwork. You also see the connection between teamwork and success and one drives the other on both a personal level and as a member of something greater than yourself.
The foundation of the HH is based on a code called “The Warrior’s Ethos,” which is 23 words comprising four main principles with centuries of meaning behind them. This ethos serves to provide a spark to warm you on the coldest of mornings and guide you on darkest of nights as it will guide you and as a critical step towards the pinnacle of Spartan — the Agoge. The Hurricane Heat is where you learn non-traditional problem solving, find endurance under duress, and experience the power of synergy.
There are no timing chips and no bibs. There is no individual competition. Once immersed in the HH culture, you quickly find your “why” and a renewed sense of purpose for taking on this challenge. With a gear list in your email inbox, the onus is on you to come prepared for four hours of intense demanding work with plenty of mental and physical challenges. Each HH is a unique experience directly related to the individuality of the venue, as well as the cadre in charge. You will be challenged. As a team, you will succeed.
The next step is your first step. Welcome to your new 1,000 mile journey. Successful finishers earn an HH dog tag, a finisher t-shirt, entry into a closed networking group, and the chance of a lifetime discovering the camaraderie derived only from becoming a Hurricane Heater.
On 09th Ocotober 2016, Malaysia will feel the wrath of the Malaysian Hurricane heat.
